Professional Overview

Dr. Anjala S. Krishen is a Professor and the Mel Larson Endowed Chair of Marketing, and Interim Dean of the Lee Business School at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. A nationally recognized scholar, her research explores consumer behavior, digital marketing, and the intersection of data, technology, and human decision-making.

She has authored 90+ peer-reviewed journal articles and 24 editorials, with her work cited 8,300+ times and an h-index of 37 (Google Scholar). Her research impact continues to accelerate, with more than 2,400 citations in 2024 alone. In 2025, she became the first business faculty member at UNLV to receive the Barrick Distinguished Scholar Award, one of the university’s highest honors.

Dr. Krishen is also a dedicated educator and mentor, having co-authored more than 35 publications with graduate students, supporting their advancement into doctoral programs, faculty roles, and industry leadership positions.

Since joining UNLV in 2007, she has held multiple leadership roles, including Director of MBA Programs, Chair of the Marketing & International Business Department, and Associate Dean for Executive Education & Corporate Engagement. Her leadership has contributed to the launch of four dual-degree MBA programs, the development of endowed scholarships, and the expansion of executive education and corporate partnerships.

Prior to academia, Dr. Krishen spent over a decade in engineering and consulting, bringing a data-driven, interdisciplinary lens to business education.
